November 25 - January 3, 2027
This holiday season embark on a richly theatrical adventure blending live folk music, imaginative stagecraft, and sweeping storytelling in this regional premiere. When an Old Woman leaves her home, drawn by a mysterious song and the promise of the far horizon, the Old Man, whose lifelong task has been to keep the moon filled with light, sets out after her. Guided by determination, the Old Man joins a ragtag crew of sailors, encounters raging, storms, mythical monsters, and the fiercest obstacle of all: change - in this epic voyage to the end of the world.
We are looking for 6 joyful actor/musicians to join us for Hedgerow’s holiday production of The Old Man and the Old Moon. While any instrumentalists will be considered, we are particularly looking for guitarists, pianists, and string instrumentalists.
For the virtual audition submission, please prepare a short song selection to sing in the style of the show accompanying yourself on your instrument as well as a short (30 seconds to 1 minute) comedic monologue. Optionally, feel free to also include an additional short video playing your instrument(s) to demonstrate your ability.
Hedgerow Theatre encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and performers with disabilities to submit.
In person second round auditions will take place at Hedgerow on August 24th and 25th, 2026. Final callbacks will take place on August 31st, 2026.
