The Belle of Amherst
Producing Artistic Director brings the great American poet, Emily Dickinson, vibrantly to life. Miss Dickinson was an eccentric and virtual recluse in her father's house for 56 years in Amherst, Massachusetts, where she secretly recorded her private thoughts in more than 1,700 epigrammatic poems. Luce used them, along with her letters and remembrances of friends and family, to create this biographical one-woman play. As Emily herself tells us of her childhood, her thoughts and her longing to be published, we are able to discover the extraordinary vision that made her one of America's most beloved poets.
