 Educating Rita
 Willy Russell
Directed by Penelope Reed
February 8-March 11, 2012 Signature Series
University lecturer Frank needs to earn some extra money, so he agrees to tutor Rita, a brash, earthy hairdresser with a recently discovered passion for higher education. The result is a delightful Pygmalion-style comedy in which Frank ends up playing Henry Higgins to Rita's modern-day Eliza Doolittle.

I wanted to make a play which engaged and was relevant to those who considered themselves uneducated, those whose daily language is not the language of the university or the theatre. I wanted to write a play which would attract, and be as valid for, the Ritas in the audience as the Franks. - Willy Russell

Change Your Life! One delightful English middle-aged housewife discovers how to do just that in Hedgerow Theatre's hilarious critically-acclaimed production of this London and Broadway smash comedy performed by Hedgerow's veteran actress Susan Wefel. Plucky, wisecracking. Shirley is ready for something ... almost anything ... to happen to her. And it does! Due a brief bit of adult humor, this show is not recommended for children.

 The Comedy of Errors
 William Shakespeare
Directed by Jared Reed
March 21 - April 29, 2012 Heritage Series
Shakespeare's classic comedy of mistaken identity is aptly named. It involves two sets of identical twins, one the sons of a wealthy merchant, the other their slaves, who are separated in a shipwreck. The older brothers of each pair end up together, as do the younger boys, who take on their older siblings' names to honor them. That only adds to the confusion during their efforts to find each other as adults in an escalating series of madcap mix-ups. The zaniness and slapstick make it a great introduction to the Bard!
Farceur Jared Reed leads the Hedgerow Ensemble in this madcap, slapstick-filled tale of mistaken identity, Shakespeare's first comedy and his shortest play.
